Hi, I’m Danielle Roxborough, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Love is a Verb Counseling. I work with couples and individuals through a trauma-informed, relational lens because I believe relationships are where we experience both our deepest wounds and our greatest healing. My work integrates the Gottman Method, attachment-based therapy, EFT and DBT skills, and I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals and partnerships. I’m also a certified Fair Play Method facilitator, helping couples build more balanced, collaborative partnerships at home.
I enjoy working with individuals in the recovery community, first responders, and those who have experienced traumatic childhoods. I don't just talk the talk, I walk the walk.
I bring a rare blend of 25+ years of clinical expertise and real world understanding of how mental health, learning, and well-being intersect across home, school, and work settings. My passion is serving as a thoughtful, compassionate partner for youth, young adults, parents, and/or educators in navigating through stress, change, and growth.
I am a person centered with a passion to be of service. Very creative in curating treatment plans designed with you in mind. Solution focused on healing with diverse modalities.
With a Masters in Holistic Counseling Psychology as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and with a Masters Certification in Intuitive and Energy Medicine (MIM) I offer an integrative approach that blends evidence based therapeutic modalities with psycho-spiritual practices to support healing, growth, and transformation for personal and spiritual development.
I believe that every person has the capacity to grow, heal, and create meaningful change when they feel understood, supported, and empowered. My goal is to provide a welcoming, compassionate environment where clients feel safe to explore life's challenges without judgment. I work with individuals who are seeking practical solutions, greater self-awareness, and lasting personal growth. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck! My background is rooted in working with diverse groups, including veterans, military personnel, individuals with chronic mental illness, people involved in the juvenile justice and forensic systems, and students from elementary to university level. I bring a deep commitment to cultural competency and awareness to my practice, aiming to create an environment where every client feels seen and understood. My professional journey includes roles as a supervisor at the Long Beach VA, leadership at Metropolitan State Hospital, and work in psychiatric and probation settings, giving me a broad perspective and unique insights that inform my work.
I'm a multicultural first generation female. I enjoy having the privilege to work with a variety of people in an effort to improve lives.
My passion is helping individuals find healing, balance, and inner strength. With compassion and care, I support clients as they navigate life’s challenges, building resilience, self-awareness, and emotional well-being along the way.I provide evidence-based treatment tailored to each person’s needs, drawing on mindfulness, trauma-informed approaches, and personalized care plans.
