I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, with a private practice in Marin since 1990. I got my undergraduate degree from Columbia and a masters of science (psychology) from Antioch University.
I have experience with children, adolescents, adults and families since 1975. I am retired from his position as Director of Medi-Cal Services and a clinical supervisor and staff trainer at Through the Looking Glass in Berkeley. Through the Looking Glass is a nationally recognized non-profit organization serving children aged 0 to 18 where a child or caretaker has a disability. I was formerly on the counseling staff of Larry Fritzlan Recovery Services in Marin.

I works with alcohol and substance abuse, including dual-diagnosis and individuals working 12 step programs, as well as with individuals who would like to address a substance issue but are not open to 12 step work. I work with trauma, and with problems with attention and emotional regulation.
I specialized in working with preteen, teens, young adults and adult individuals. My purpose is to provide an empathic, supportive space in which you can speak freely about your experiences, consider issues of identity, and explore relational possibilities. I understand that family dynamics can be complex and challenging. Through therapy one can uncover the past and find a deeper connection on how thoughts impact the behavior in the present.
Helping people find joy and meaning in their lives is my biggest passion in my work. However, life has its difficulties, including painful experiences, and when you need help solving what is in the way of getting from one day to the next or pursuing dreams, I want to help you figure out what is happening and help you develop tools to empower you to manage what seemed impossible and to create the life you desire.
I have been working in private practice for a few years and before that I worked in non-profits with a variety of individuals and groups. I am the parent of two adult sons and have three grandchildren that I thoroughly enjoy spending time with. I have an educational background in the study of philosophy, spirituality and counseling psychology. I have experience with helping people with histories of trauma, severe mental illness, as well as, symptoms of anxiety and depression. I also have experience and some expertise with clients struggling with substance use.
My practice focuses on treating individuals with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I have been in private practice for 8 years. My education includes a Master's degree in psychology. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
