Top therapists in Georgia accepting new patients
My mother taught me and my brothers from a very young age not to ever hate anyone. Her words have been invaluable to me. My father instilled in us boys a mantra that too has served me well. He said to us innumerable times "Listen." Neither of my parents were strict disciplinarians, and they never used corporal punishment. But, from boyhood, through adolescence and into young adulthood, my brothers and I could count on a well-deserved lecture and extra chores if either of my parents ever caught us breaking one of these rules. My parents' philosophy helped steer me into my life's work, and I employ their beliefs daily in my career as a therapist. I believe people seek counseling so they can be accepted, validated and heard. I committed to myself long ago to never hate and to always listen to my patients/clients/consumers, regardless of their behaviors.Validation, empowerment and dignity are what I strive to create, cultivate and reap in every therapeutic alliance into which I enter.

My favorite part about counseling is letting people know they are NOT crazy! Many feel like they are the only ones struggling and it is not true. I want to help you understand what is happening and let you know that you don't have to be a victim of your feelings. I use cognitive behavioral therapy in our sessions where we work to identify the negative thought patterns that are causing your feelings of anger, anxiety, and depression. Then we can work to change the way you feel by changing how you think. Let's figure out what motivates you and where the pain points.
I’ve spent years sitting with people at their lowest—through addiction, crisis, and the kind of pain that can make life feel unmanageable. That work taught me something I bring into every session now: nobody is “too much,” and no story is too messy. These days, I’m more focused on slower, steadier work. Whether you’re worn down by depression, gripping through stress, or finally ready to be honest about drinking or using, I’ll meet you where you are with steadiness, honesty, and compassion. You don’t need the right words yet; we’ll figure it out together.
Greetings!
I look forward to working with you and being that change agent you're looking for. I have a Doctorate Degree in Social Work and I'm a License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Masters Addiction Counselor (MAC) with over 30 years of experience working with individuals (14 years old-up) who have challenges with addictions, depression, stress management, grief and loss, and relationship concerns, just to name a few.
