Life is about change and some changes are more difficult to navigate than others. When we are stressed, anxious or depressed, it is a sign that our lives are out of balance. My focus is on providing a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental and compassionate space for adults, couples, and families to share their experiences and to help navigate through some more difficult life changes [positive or negative] to create more balance in your life. I have at least 4 years of experience in working with a wide range of people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, as well as symptoms of severe and persistent mental illness. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to make changes to improve their lives, find purpose, and meaningful fulfillment. I would encourage you to create the skills for effective coping mechanisms for overall wellness. I can collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, social service agencies and will accept most health insurances. Deciding to engage in therapy and choosing a therapist can be overwhelming. Finding a therapist whose personality and style is a good fit with yours is important. More importantly, I see YOU as the expert in your life with unique values, needs and issues. I look forward to helping you to more effectively pursue your values and explore what keeps you from being the best you ever.
As a trauma therapist, I help people overcome terrible things that have happened to them in their lives. Abusive childhoods, violence in interpersonal relationships, rape, sexual assault, and cult survivors are my areas of focus. I help resolve the PTSD that often results from these atrocities, by using EMDR and traditional psychotherapy.
The common lie my clients tell themselves is, “It’s not that bad, other people have it worse.” You’re not other people. You’re allowed to get help.
I believe therapy can provide that for those who are looking to work towards reaching their life's goals. Whether you want to address mental health concerns, past trauma or strategies to cope with life transitions, I help my clients to identify barriers in their thought patterns and present tools to build upon their resiliency.
If you have been feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you cannot seem to break, or
simply ready for something to feel different, I would be glad to work alongside you. I am a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with 17 years of experience supporting
individuals, couples, and families through anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, grief,
and major life transitions. I work collaboratively, drawing on evidence-based approaches
tailored to each person's unique situation, because no two people navigate their inner
world the same way. I offer a warm, direct space where you can feel genuinely heard and
move toward real change.
I specialize in trauma-informed care using CBT, TF-CBT, and EMDR. Drawing from my experience in crisis intervention and complex trauma, I tailor treatment to each individual’s needs and strengths. Together, we’ll focus on developing effective coping skills, restoring balance, and building the tools to face future challenges with resilience while reducing the bite of the past.
Hi, I'm Aïcha, a trauma and anxiety specialist offering somatic and attachment-based therapy for adults ready to feel safe in their own bodies again. Many of my clients come to therapy after realizing their body is still carrying the stress of survival. I don't see pathology; I see the necessary adaptations that once protected you. Healing begins when we meet those parts with compassion, not judgment. Together, we'll slow down, make sense of your patterns, and help your nervous system finally exhale.
I specialize in trauma recovery, anxiety, chronic stress, and attachment wounds. My approach combines Somatic Experiencing (body-based healing), Internal Family Systems (IFS parts work), and Attachment-Based Therapy to help you regulate your nervous system, release stored tension, and rebuild self trust and emotional safety.
Do you find yourself doubting your ability? Are you and your family/partner interested in building healthier ways to communicate? Are you ready to heal from the things that you have been afraid to talk about? James Baldwin once said, "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." This quote is the essence of therapy, facing difficult obstacles and experiences in hopes with exploration and work things will change.
My name is Whitley, I am a marriage and family therapist. I specialize in working with teens, couples, and families. I work collaboratively with my clients on everyday life challenges. I believe you are an expert in your life and I am here to guide you.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by challenging experiences that hold you back from living a fulfilling life? You're not alone. Many of our struggles can significantly impact our daily well-being. Feeling stressed is a natural human emotion that helps us recognize and respond to potential threats. However, when these feelings becomes excessive and interferes with our daily life, it can be debilitating. Using a solution-focused approach, I focus on desired outcomes and meaningful change while offering specialized guidance in lifestyle shifts to help clients navigate life’s complexities.
