Hello! My name is Dee, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University and a specialized Mental Health certification from Lamar University. The counseling relationship between you and I is one of mutual respect and responsibility. Starting with understanding where you are now and the challenges you are facing, we will work together to help you move forward and reach your goals. Therapy is a process that takes place in a non-judgmental environment where you are free to share your thoughts, emotions, and concerns.
I work with older adolescents, adults and couples. Clients come to me for a variety of reasons including recent or past trauma, various forms of abuse, relationship difficulties, life stresses and transitions, depression, grief, anxiety, as well as personal growth and development, among others.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience working with children, teens, adults, and families. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and emotional regulation. I provide culturally sensitive care in English, Spanish, and Russian and strive to create a safe, respectful, and supportive space where clients feel heard and understood.
I work hard to create a safe, empathic, and authentic environment. I believe I can best help clients by listening to their story and being a fellow traveler in their lives. I have found a passion for working with a great array of individuals but particularly enjoy working with families, couples, the LGBTQ+ community, and sex therapy. I find the best work I do is simply when I connect with a client. I have my masters from SMU and have done specialized training in Gottman, EFT, and sex therapy.
Life can get heavy—whether you’re juggling family dynamics, relationship stress, parenting challenges, or just trying to stay afloat. Maybe you’ve always been the dependable one, the person everyone else leans on, but you’re starting to realize it’s time to focus on yourself. You want less tension, more connection, and practical tools that actually make a difference. You’re not after a quick fix—you just want someone real to help you sort things out and walk with you through the hard parts.
My therapeutic style remains flexible and collaborative, focusing on your individual strengths, needs, and motivation. I consider it a privilege to partner with my clients in this work and to be trusted by them as they share their stories. I strive to create a collaborative space for you to share and examine your own behaviors, feelings, and thoughts; for as Cheryl Richardson has noted, “People start to heal the moment the feel heard.”
