If you're struggling with anxiety, ADHD, or depression that hasn't improved with therapy, you may be exactly who I work with. I also work with people facing relationship challenges, or going through life changes that have left them unsure of themselves.
I'm Dr. Elise. I started my practice because I believe real change happens when we look at the mind and body together, not as separate problems. My background spans clinical psychotherapy, neuroscience, and applied psychophysiology. That means I listen to what you're going through, and I also understand what's happening underneath it in your nervous system, so I can build something that actually works for you.
If any of this resonates with you, I'd be happy to talk.

She first came to Florida for her graduate training at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), where she earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Integrated Behavioral Healthcare. She has been a part of the Gulfshore Behavioral Health team since January 2023.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Strom enjoys cooking, baking, sewing and other crafts, exploring new restaurants and local activities, practicing yoga, traveling when possible, and spending time with her dog and partner.
My name is Averry Cox and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a Black and White biracial, neurodivergent AUDHD, bi-sexual, cisgender woman, and I am a single mother. I mention this because with these identities, I experience firsthand the complex messages from society about my worth, value, and place in this world.
As a woman of color and trauma survivor, I understand how limiting and unsafe therapy can feel for those with diverse backgrounds seeking support, honest expression, relatability, and genuine understanding in a non-judgmental environment.
I extend a warm invitation to families, individuals, and couples from all cultures to join me in therapy.
Through my own life experiences, I discovered a passion for mental health care, which led me to pursue a Master's in Counseling at Saint Martin's University. I completed my internship at Community Youth Services in Olympia, Washington, where I had the opportunity to work with individuals, families, and at-risk youth.
My training focused on a social justice and trauma-informed approach to counseling, which has shaped the way I work with clients.
As a registered nurse and case manager, I observed people hurting and struggling to cope with pain, or addiction, or the loss of a loved one, or the loss of their health. I came to realize that I really wanted to help people gain practical skills that would help them navigate the storms of life, so I went back to school once more and obtained a master’s degree in counseling. I have been a counselor now for 7 very rewarding years. I’m looking forward to many, many more!
